Pune: 1,143 Candidates Of Civil Engineering Services (MPSC) Still Not Appointed, Protests To Be Held

Pune, 22nd August 2022: It is worth noting that the state government has announced that Govindas will be given a government job through sports reservation, but 1,143 candidates selected in the Civil Engineering Services 2019 examination have not been appointed yet, after three and a half years. There is growing discomfort among these candidates, and they will hold a ‘Bheek Maango’ protest in front of the Pune Collectorate Office on Tuesday (August 23) to get the appointments.
A few days ago, the state government announced to give Dahihandi the status of a sport, giving Govindas government jobs through player reservation. Also, a Pro Govinda tournament was announced. There is a strong reaction from across the state against this decision. It is also being opposed through agitation as 1,143 candidates, who were selected for ‘Group A’ and ‘Group B’ (Gazetted) posts in Civil Engineering Services 2019 examination by Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC), are still waiting for an appointment since three and a half years.
Candidates like Vinayak Desai, Akash Pardeshi, Nikhil Pawar, and Sagar Desale, who are waiting for an appointment despite being selected, said, “We have tried requesting and talking at all levels, but the government always ignored it. But as the situation is beyond bearable now, we have decided to protest. Therefore, at ten o’clock in the morning on Tuesday, the selected candidates will prostrate themselves in the representative form at the Pune Collector’s Office and beg for an immediate appointment.”
