Pune: 12.5 kg Cannabis Smuggled Through Luxury Bus, 4 Persons Arrested
Pune, 15th May 2022: Four persons including two women who were smuggling cannabis (Ganja) from Gadchiroli to Pune have been arrested by the Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) of Pune City Police. They had sprayed perfumes on the sacks to subdue the smell of the cannabis.
The operation was carried out by the police in the Hingne Khurd area on Sinhagad road. Police have seized 12.5 kg of cannabis worth Rs 2.5 lakh from the accused.
The arrested persons have been identified as Prashik Purushottam Zade, Vikas Revachand Bansod, Vedanti Devidas Nikore and Shyamkala Sukhdev Kirange, all residents of Gadchiroli.
Acting on a tip-off received by policeman Nitin Jagdale, a trap was laid in Hingne Khurd and the accused were nabbed on May 13.
The team was led by Police Inspector Prakash Khandekar, PSI Digambar Chavan and police personnel Prasad Bomdandi, Mayur Suryavanshi, Santosh Deshpande, Chetan Gaikwad, Santosh Jachak, Disha Khewalkar.
