Pune, 17th March 2023: It was time to inaugurate the new flyover and road widening project at Kothrud-Chandni Chowk. However, since the inauguration is only 1.5 months away, even though the District Collector has inspected the system and given instructions to complete the work on a speedy level, how will the work be completed in a short period? – Such a question is being raised. Citizens have expressed the hope that the quality of work should not be affected by the struggle to meet the deadline.

The newly constructed project in Chandni Chowk has to be inaugurated, and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said in a press conference that it will be done on 1st May. After that, Collector Dr Rajesh Deshmukh also inspected the ongoing works in the Chowk on Wednesday (15th March).

Meanwhile, the work of the flyover and road widening project at Chowk has been 70 per cent completed in September 2022, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) said in a release. So, after the inspection tour of the Collector, it was said that 86 per cent of the work of this project has been completed. That means 16 per cent of the work has been completed in the last six months. Now, the question is being raised as to how the remaining 14 per cent of work will be done in the next 1.5 to two months.

Meanwhile, some private owners have still not transferred the land, so the road works are incomplete in three places. By working day and night, flyovers and roads will be prepared; but in terms of safety, other measures need to be taken.
