Pune: 15 Bikes Seized for Noise Pollution on Shivaji Maharaj’s Birth Anniversary

Wagholi, 11th March 2023: In a major action against ruffians harassing people with loud noise through motorcycle noise, Lonikand police station (Pune City Police) has penalised owners of 15 bikes. The action was taken yesterday.

For the celebration of Shri Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s birth anniversary, law and order arrangements were put in place starting at 6 am. Concerns were raised by citizens regarding the loud noises made by bikes by modifying silencers. After getting information from the police control room, Senior Police Inspector Gajanan Pawar directed a team to take action against the offending bikes.

The team was stationed at Wagheshwar Chowk, Avalwadi Chowk, Kesnand Fata and other places in Lonikand police station limits. They confiscated a total of 15 bikes and brought them to Wagholi police chowky. With the assistance of traffic police, the vehicles’ documents were checked, and they were taken into custody.

Inspector Pawar said that the initiative was taken to maintain the peace and safety of the public on this significant day. The police’s prompt action against the offenders sends a message to the public that such behavior will not be tolerated.
