Pune, 26th May 2024: In the Kalyaninagar Porsche accident case, the Crime Branch of the Pune police has seized CCTV camera footage from more than 150 locations in the Kalyaninagar, Mundhwa, Koregaon Park and Vadgaosheri areas for investigation. Officials from the Crime Branch have indicated that the investigation will accelerate as crucial details will emerge from the CCTV footage including from the bungalow of the minor accused, the accident site, and the pubs which he visited before the accident.

The investigation into the Kalyaninagar accident case has been handed over to the Crime Branch. Under the guidance of Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar, Additional Commissioner (crime) Shailesh Balkawade, DCP (crime) Amol Zende, Crime Branch officers ACPs Sunil Tambe and Satish Govekar are conducting the investigation.

On Saturday (May 25), the Crime Branch raided the bungalow of builder Vishal Agarwal at Bramha Sun City in Vadgaon Sheri. The police suspect technical tampering with the CCTV footage from the bungalow area. It was observed that the boy and the driver left the bungalow on a motorbike.

Last Sunday (May 19) in Kalyaninagar, a speeding Porsche car hit IT engineers Aneesh Awadhiya and Ashwini Koshta, who both died on the spot. Vishal Agarwal’s son, who was detained in this case, has been ordered by the Juvenile Justice Board to be kept in an observation home. Vishal Agarwal has been placed in judicial custody, and his father, Surendra Arrested, has been arrested for coercing their driver to take the blame for driving the car at the time of the accident.

According to police, after the accident, the minor’s father and grandfather attempted to destroy evidence. Agarwal had fabricated a story that the driver caused the accident. Agarwals pressured the motorist to tell the police that he was responsible for the accident, offering money as an incentive. Herikrub was detained at the bungalow for two days. After the driver went missing, his family went to the bungalow and, after they raised an alarm, Herikrub was released. A case has been registered against the minor’s father, Vishal, and grandfather, Surendra, for detaining and threatening the driver.
