Acting on a tip-off, Bharati Vidyapeeth police station officials raided Kumbhar building near Eicher showroom on the road from Navale bridge to Katraj. Accused Mahendrasingh Deora, a resident of Ambegaon, was preparing adulterated ghee by mixing Dalda and Gemini Oil. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) officials have seized the said goods and recommended filing a case after receiving the report to take further action.

Selling adulterated food to the public is a serious crime, but not many people take it earnestly. Adulterated food can cause serious health concerns, increasing the chances of cancer and kidney issues.

The action was taken under the guidance of Senior Police Inspector Jagannath Kalaskar by a team comprising Police Sub Inspector Nitin Shinde, policeman Ravindra Chippa and others.
