Pune: 155 Ganeshotsav Mandals in Talegaon and Surrounding Areas Set for Immersion Ceremonies Today

Talegaon, 25th September 2023: In a grand display of devotion and unity, 155 public Ganeshotsav mandals within the jurisdiction of Talegaon Dabhade, Talegaon MIDC, and Shirgaon police stations are set to immerse their Ganesh idols today. The tradition of immersing the idols on the seventh day of the festival is a significant cultural event in the Maval taluka.

The immersion processions will converge at two primary ghats in Talegaon Dabhade, with additional immersion sites available in Induri and Somatne. These locations serve as the focal points for the symbolic farewell to Lord Ganesha in the region.

Talegaon Dabhade Police Station: A total of 91 public Ganeshotsav mandals are prepared to carry out the immersion ceremonies today. Both public mandals and individual households will participate, adhering to local traditions. Stringent security measures and predefined routes have been established to ensure a smooth procession.

Shirgaon Police Station: Here, 73 Ganeshotsav mandals are registered, with 32 set for immersion today. Additional immersions will take place on the ninth and tenth days of the festival. Security arrangements include three officers and 40 enforcers to oversee the proceedings. Senior Police Inspector Vanita Dhumal emphasized the importance of eco-friendly practices and adherence to government guidelines.

Talegaon MIDC Police Station: A total of 32 public Ganeshotsav mandals will participate in today’s ceremonies, primarily choosing the scenic Induri ghat for immersion. Four officers and 37 enforcers have been deployed to ensure safety. Senior Police Inspector Ranjit Sawant cautioned against entering deep waters and urged for a safe and joyous conclusion to the festival.
