Pune: 16-Year-Old Boy Died After Drowning In Bhushi Dam

Lonavla, 26th October 2022: A 16-year-old boy drowned in Bhushi Dam. The deceased boy has been identified as Rohit Jogindar Lahot (16), a resident of Neral.

 

Rohit came to visit Bhushi Dam with his tuition teacher and 5 other students. Rohit went to the edge of the dam ignoring his teacher’s warning. Reportedly, Rohit was not aware of the pothole present near the edge along with the depth of the pothole.

 

According to the information given by Pavan Karad, Police Contable to PunekarNews.in, as soon as Rohit stepped into the water, he reportedly drowned as he was not aware of the pothole present near the edge of the water.

 

The police department received the call regarding this at around 2.55 pm and the team of police officials along with the Shivdurg team went to the accident spot.

 

They fished out Rohit’s body and immediately shifted him to the Sanjivani Hospital for further treatment. The doctor then declared Rohit dead after examining his body.

 

Sachin Gaikwad, Yogesh Umbre, Ashok Umbre, Amit Bhosale, Omkar Padwal, Sagar Kumhar, Amol Chinure, Rajendra Kadu, Ajay Mayekar, Amol Parchand, Amol Sutar, Sunil Gaikwad from Shivdurg team were involved in the rescue operation.

 

Deputy Superintendent Of Police, Assistant Police Inspector Kartik, Police Constable Pavan Karad, and APA Powar carried out the operation.
