Pune: 170 mm Rainfall Recorded Today In Lonavla
Lonavla, 13th July 2022: The heavy rains have been raging in Lonavala since last week. The city also received 213 mm of rain in 24 hours on Tuesday (July 12). It rained 170 mm between 7 am and 5 pm today (July 13).
The Tata Company and the District Disaster Management Committee have warned the people living along the river to be vigilant as water is likely to flow from the Lonavla dam in the next 24 hours if the rains continue.
The city of Lonavla has received 1735 mm (68.31 inches) of rainfall to date. Last year, 1306 mm (51.42 inches) of rain fell till today. This year, the rains that started in July have filled all the averages and in just eight days, all the dams in Maval taluka have been half filled. The city has received 1650 mm of rainfall in the last eight days from July 5 to July 12.
It has been raining in Lonavla since this morning. Many houses in the Kusgaon B. area have been flooded. There has been a massive flood in rural areas.
In many places, the builders have stuffed the materials, hence there is not much space for the rainwater to flow, resulting in water everywhere in the area.
