Pune: 19-Year-Old Died By Suicide After Getting Threats On Social Media To Make His Half-Naked Photos Go Viral; Police In Search For Accused
Pune, 13th October 2022: A 19-year-old boy jumped off a building after getting threatened to pay money. The incident happened in the Dattawadi area of Pune.
The deceased youth has been identified as Shantanu Wadkar. The name of the accused woman who threatened Shantanu on social media is Preet Yadav.
According to the information given by Senior Inspector Vijay Khomane of Dattawadi Police Station, Shantanu Wadkar used to be active on social media. Shantanu got to know a young girl with the username as Preet Yadav on Instagram. Meanwhile, when Preet Yadav asked Shantanu for a half-naked photo, he shared it with her. After that, she started asking him for money and began threatening him that she will make the photos go viral.
Shantanu, who was scared after the threat, sent Preet Rs 4,500 online. However, Shantanu jumped from the residential building around noon on September 28, fed up with this constant harassment as Preet kept asking for more money.
After this incident, Shantanu was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, but the doctors declared him dead.
After this incident, Shantanu’s family filed a case at the police station and the police informed that the search for the accused Preet Yadav is going on.
