Pune: 23 Newly Included Villages In PMC Have To Take Permission For Ganapati Mandals

Pune, 18th August 2022: Ganeshotsav Mandals in 23 newly included villages under Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) are not registered with the Municipal Corporation. Therefore, this year these Mandals will have to apply to the Municipal Corporation and get a license. This license will be maintained till 2027. The municipal administration has clarified that the licensing procedure has been fixed and sent to the regional offices.

Chief Minister Eknath Shinde during the meeting of Ganeshotsav Mandals, it has been decided to permit the Mandals for the next five years. Accordingly, Municipal Commissioner Vikram Kumar has given a letter to Police Commissioner Amitabh Gupta stating that the Commissioner of Police should order all local police stations to issue relevant licences.

 

In 2019, the Municipal Corporation has given licenses to the boards. These licenses are to be considered for a period of five years from 2022 to 2027.

 

The circles in the old limits of the Pune Municipal Corporation have previously obtained a license from the Municipal Corporation to set up a mandal by taking a no-objection certificate from the traffic police and the concerned police station. But this process has not been completed in the newly included villages, these mandals are not registered with the Municipal Corporation, so the mandals here are advised to register and get a license this year.

Due to Corona, the Municipal Corporation retained the license of 2019 in 2020 and 2021. This year, Ganeshotsav is going to be celebrated in a frenzy after a gap of two years. Therefore, if the license is to be given once again, the municipality, police and mandals would have to work in place an assign a huge system. Therefore, a license was demanded for five years.

 

Eknath Shinde ordered the five-year license in a review meeting held in Pune. But the mandals pointed out that there is no coordination between the municipal corporation and the police in the meeting called by the municipal corporation for the preparation of Ganeshotsav.
