Pune: Action against 140 Latecomer Employees Of PMC

Pune, 18th August 2022: Pune Municipal Corporation’s (PMC) working hours are from 9:45 am to 5:45 pm. But since the municipal employees were coming late in the morning and leaving early in the evening, the action was taken. In this, action has been taken by stopping 140 late employees at the gate on Wednesday (August 17) morning.

The municipality has been closed for the last four days due to public holidays, with many employees enjoying five consecutive days off with a Friday off or half day. But this morning it was time to come to the municipal corporation, but even though it was past 10.00 am yet still many employees were coming late. Therefore, instructions have been given to take action against them.

 

Employees are expected to come to the Municipal Corporation at 9.45 am, but many employees come to work till 10.30 which results in a late start of work in the morning. It is also observed that many employees go for tea before the lunch break. After the lunch break, especially the female employees are seen walking in the new building. Action has been started after receiving a complaint from the authorities in this regard.

 

140 employees arrived late after 10.00 am Wednesday. Taking note of them, this information has been forwarded to the concerned Heads of the Departments. Deputy Commissioner Madhav Jagtap said that these employees have been given a half-day leave on Wednesday.

A five-day work week was announced for municipal employees on the lines of the state government. With the addition of four Saturdays in a month, the daily working hours were extended to cover the working hours of these days. Instead of Monday to Friday from 10:30 am to 5:30 pm, the working time has been fixed as 9.45 am to 5.45 pm
