Pune: 25 Ventilators Discarded By Sassoon Hospital Now Repaired And Being Used Again

Pune, 30th April 2021: The Sassoon hospital received more than 80 ventilators from PM Care funds. Out of this, around 25 ventilators were not working and kept aside.

 

After that  Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) took custody of those ventilators, got them repaired with the help of technicians and now those ventilators are in working condition at various hospitals including Sassoon hospital.

 

Mayor Murlidhar Mohol said, ”Sassoon hospital received more than 80 ventilators from PM Care funds. Out of which 25 ventilators were completely in non-working condition. A discussion has been done in front of MP Prakash Javadekar. After that, the PMC took custody of the ventilators and made them operational. Currently, out of those 25 ventilators 8 has been given to a hospital in Bibvewadi while the rest were given to other hospitals in the city including Sassoon hospital.

It is a serious matter that the hospital that came under the state medical education department has kept the ventilators completely abandoned over the minor technical issues at the time when it was needed the most.”

 

He added, “As per the declaration made by Javadekar, the centre started to purchase the ventilators and 30 more ventilators to be provided to Pune city from PM Care Funds. The PMC also received 5 ventilators from Shankar Maharaj Math.”
