Pune: 28,000 Citizens Participate In Cleanliness Drive

Pune, 18th September 2022: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday and Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary will be celebrated in Pune city between 17th September and 2nd October. On this occasion, on the first day, a cleanliness campaign was carried out in Pune. About 28,000 citizens participated in this. They collected 14,000 kg of garbage. People’s representatives, municipal officials, brand ambassadors appointed by the solid waste department, and school students participated in this campaign.

On the occasion of Swachh Amrit Mahotsav in the city, under the Indian Swachata League, Puneri Nayak, the Municipal Corporation organized a cleanliness drive at various places in the city. Various social organizations, institutions, public representatives, municipal officials, and employees participated in it.

 

 

 

A cleanliness campaign will be conducted in the city from 17th September to 2nd October, from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday to Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti. An entry has been filed in the name of Pune City – Puneri Nayak – in this initiative at the national level. On the first day, a round trip was conducted between Taljai Tekdi to Nanasaheb Peshwa Lake at Katraj Katraj. Also, NCC Rivers Salute March by NCC at Omkareshwar Ghat, a street play by BMCC on Panch Mahabhuta, and information about river conservation through Jivit Nadi Sanstha took place. Along with this, around 60 programs were held in the city. 28, 642 citizens participated in it. 14,321 kg of waste has been collected from this.

 

 

 

MLA Bheemrao Tapkir, former MLA Medha Kulkarni, Yogesh Mulik, Subhash Jagtap, Additional Commissioner Dr Kunal Khemnar, Vilas Kanade, Deputy Commissioner Asha Raut, Pune Municipal Brand Ambassador Suman More, Mahadev Jadhav, Maithili Manakwad, Puneet Sharma, Harshad Barde, Satya Natarajan, Vikrant Singh, Amrapali Chavan, and others were present.
