Pune: 37-Year-Old Man Dead in Early Morning Crash with Truck in Wagholi

Wagholi, 9th June 2025: In a fatal road accident in Wagholi, Pune, 37-year-old Yuvraj Patil lost his life after his car collided with a truck at Gade Wasti Chowk around 4 AM on Saturday. The mishap occurred when the truck driver allegedly made a sudden, unsignaled turn, giving Patil no time to react. He sustained severe injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Following the incident, the truck driver fled the location. Based on a complaint filed by the victim’s brother, Aniruddha Patil, the Wagholi Police have registered an FIR against the unidentified driver under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Motor Vehicles Act.

Police Sub-Inspector Bagal, who is leading the investigation, said, “Preliminary findings point to gross negligence on the part of the truck driver. We are examining CCTV footage and recording eyewitness accounts to identify and apprehend the accused.”

The accident has once again brought road safety concerns on Nagar Road into sharp focus, an area known for frequent reckless driving incidents. Yuvraj Patil was a resident of Dudulgaon near Alandi and was reportedly driving home when the tragedy struck.
