Pune 17th July 2023: At least 50 buses of the ‘Punyadasham’ service of Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) of Swargate depot were not in service due to lack of fitness certificates. The PMPML officials have informed that 9 of these buses are back in service on July 15 while remaining are likely to be in service before July 22.

The fitness certificates of 50 buses of PMPML’s Punyadasham service was over on July 8 due to which they were kept out of service. However, 9 of these buses are back in service on July 15, 11 of them will be back in service from July 19 and remaining buses are likely to be back from July 22.

PMPML has adopted a new system to complete the process for fitness certificates of PMPML buses. According to the new process, concerned company (Eicher) first makes KYC and VLDT certificate online from its official website. Later the buses are taken for the fitness test to Regional Transport Office (RTO) by the PMPML officials.

“The process was adopted recently and this is the first time fitness certificates are being acquired for PMPML buses following this process. Due to some problems in server, the process is taking more time” PMPML said.

“Responsibility of the concerned contractor responsible to maintain these buses has been fixed” the PMPML officials added.
