Pune: 42-Year-Old Cab Driver Robbed By Two Passengers In Hinjawadi Area

Hinjawadi, 9th August 2022: A 42-year-old cab driver was robbed by two passengers in Pune’s Hinjewadi neighbourhood.
According to the police, the passengers booked the cab through an online portal on Monday. They robbed the driver’s cell phone and cash.
The two suspects, both in their early 20s, were taken into custody shortly after the incident.
A Pimpri Chinchwad resident Chandrashekhar Vitthal Hanawate filed a first information report (FIR) at the Hinjawadi police station on Monday morning.
According to the FIR, Hanawate’s cab had a reservation for a ride from Hinjewadi to Shivaji Chowk at roughly 4.50 am on Monday. After a short while, the two passengers allegedly requested that Hanawate stop the vehicle on the side of the road. The two allegedly attacked Hanawate after that and took his cash, Bluetooth earpiece, and cell phone.
According to Sub-Inspector Tukaram Khadke, once Hanawate approached the police, a police squad began searching the area based on numerous leads regarding the two suspects.
The two suspects, identified by the police as Mayur Rajendra Nanaware (22), of Mulshi, and Pradeep Rajendra Sawant (24), of Kharadi, were taken into custody.
