Pune: 49,579 New Voters Registered In Chinchwad

Chinchwad, 23rd January 2023: The Chinchwad Assembly by-election has been announced. A voter registration campaign was conducted in the Pune district. 49,579 new voters have been registered in Chinchwad. It has become the largest constituency in the district. At the end of the election, the new voters are going to decide the MLA of Chinchwad.
On behalf of the State Election Commission, the electoral roll of the Assembly up to May 31, 2022, was taken into account in connection with the municipal elections. Accordingly, the municipal corporation released the ward-wise draft voter list on June 23 after dividing it ward-wise. Objections and suggestions were called for the same and following that corrections regarding the same were made.
However, instead of announcing municipal elections, Chinchwad Assembly by-elections have been announced. Therefore, reportedly the administrative preparations for the same have started. Work on voter lists has been completed.
Last year, Pimpri-Chinchwad city included all three assembly areas namely Chinchwad, Pimpri, Bhosari, and Mulshi. Therefore, the number of voters in the voter list verification campaign conducted last year was 15 lakh 693 where the voter lists were divided ward-wise. The list was then rectified.
