Pune: Farmer Dies By Suicide Due To Moneylender’s Harassment In Bhor Taluka

Bhor, 23rd January 2023: A farmer died by suicide by hanging himself due to the moneylender’s harassment in Kurungwadi village of Bhor taluka. A case has been registered against an illegal moneylender for inciting the farmer’s suicide.

The name of the deceased farmer is Satish Bajirao Shilimkar (43), a resident of Kurungwadi, taluka Bhor, district Pune. A case has been registered against Amrut Mahadev Shilimkar, a resident of Tambhad, taluka Bhor, district Pune, for inciting Shilimkar to suicide and illegal money lending.

Satish Shilimkar’s wife Vaishali has filed a complaint in this regard at the Rajgad police station. Amrut had given money to Satish with interest and was harassing him for interest. Amrut had demanded Rs 28 lakh from him. Due to Amrut’s mental harassment, torture, and threats, Satish hung himself on a tree in the field.

Amrut had demanded that the agricultural land be transferred to his name. Vaishali Shilimkar has said in the complaint that her husband Satish died by suicide due to his threats.

Bhor Sub Divisional Police Officer Dhananjay Patil and Rajgad Police Station Senior Police Inspector Sachin Patil visited the spot. Assistant Police Inspector Sanjay Sutnase is investigating the case further.
