Pune: 50 Guests At Wedding Ceremonies, Educational Institutions Closed Till March 31; PMC Releases Restriction Order

Pune, 12th March 2021: After discussion with Deputy CM Ajit Pawar and Divisional Commissioner Saurabh Rao, Pune Municipal Commissioner Vikram Kumar has issued an order for additional restrictions in Pune city in the backdrop of rising Coronavirus disease (COVID19) cases.

The guidelines released by Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) are as follows:

1) Outside the Containment Zones, all hotels, restaurants, bars, food courts, etc. establishments will be open till 10 pm at 50% of their seating capacity. However, parcel service/home delivery service through app or hotel will continue till 11 pm. These establishments are bound to strictly follow the instructions regarding the presence of customers in their hotel/restaurant. And it will be mandatory to display a board on the facade showing the total seating capacity of the hotel and the number of customers present in the hotel.

2) Malls, cinemas, shops (excluding essential goods and services e.g. medical) will remain open till 10 pm.

3) At a time only five people can be present at food stalls and other places on the roadside. Punitive action will be taken if more than five people are found present.

4) Regular classes of all primary and secondary schools, educational institutions, colleges in the municipal area will be closed till 31st March 2021. However, online education will be allowed. As there are 10th and 12th class board examinations, they are being excluded from this.

5) It will be permitted to conduct wedding ceremonies and other social, political and religious events in the presence of 50 people outside the containment zone. However, 100 people can be present at the marriage ceremony conducted in open marriage halls/lawns/grounds. In case of violation of these rules, action will be taken against the landowner and the marriage hall will be sealed. This rule will also apply to funerals and related events.

6) Outside the Containment Zone, Gardens in the Pune Municipal Corporation area will be open from 06:00 am to 10:00 am.

7) The clubhouse present in the housing society will remain closed till 31st March 2021.

8) All coaching classes (except MPSC, UPSC) will be closed till 31st March 2021. MPSC, UPSC coaching classes will be conducted at 50% of the seating capacity with following all guidelines/conditions issued for it.

9) Lockdown is imposed from 11:00 pm to 6:00 am from 14th March 2021 and only the supply of essential commodities( milk, vegetables, fruits, etc.), newspaper suppliers and essential services will be allowed. Also, those industries which operate in shifts, employees of these industries and their vehicles are being excluded from the order.

10) The orders/guidelines issued from time to time as per the reference orders will be applicable till the next order.

11) Orders/Guidelines issued earlier by Pune Municipal Corporation will be applicable till further orders.
