PCMC Issues New Guidelines For Schools, Colleges, Restaurants And Various Gatherings

Pimpri, 12th March 2021: In the backdrop of increasing Coronavirus disease (COVID19) cases, Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has issued an order imposing some more restrictions.

PCMC Commissioner Rajesh Patil has issued the order today as follows:

  • Regular Classes in Schools, colleges and private coaching classes shall remain closed till the 31st of March 2021. Online classes are permitted. 10th and 12th students are exempted due to their board exams.
  • Except for MPSC/UPSC, all coaching centres shall remain closed till 31st March. MPSC/UPSC coaching centres will be allowed to operate at 50% capacity following COVID prevention norms.
  • Except for emergency reasons / essential services, all persons are prohibited to come out on roads from 11 pm to 6 am from 14th March 2021. Essential supplies like milk, vegetables, newspaper etc are exempted. Also, offices/industries whose work in shifts will be allowed to operate and their employees can commute between home and office.
  • All hotels, restaurants, bars, food courts, establishments, shall operate at 50 % capacity and only until 10 pm. Parcel/home delivery is permitted to operate till 11 pm. They have to mandatorily display total seating capacity at a visible place in their hotel/restaurant etc.
  • All malls, cinema halls, shops (except essential commodities) will have to close at 10 pm.
  • Maximum 50 persons are permitted for Marriage, Social, political, religious functions. Max 100 persons are permitted at open-air event places like lawns, grounds. If rules are violated then FIR will be registered and the premises will be sealed.
  • All gardens/parks shall remain closed till March 31.
  • Roadside food stalls shall limit a maximum of 5 customers’ presence at a time. Food stalls shall be fined if more persons are found at such stalls.
  • Housing Society clubhouses shall remain closed till March 31.
  • The COVID Positive patients found moving out will be prosecuted for an offence under section 188 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). It is the responsibility of the society chairman to keep a watch on such patients. If home isolation rules are violated then the entire society will be sealed.
  • Police and PCMC ward officers have been empowered to ensure that there is no crowding at shops and in vegetable markets. The shopkeepers have to make markings for customers to stand to maintain social distance. If they do not cooperate then FIR will be registered against them for an offence under section 188 of the IPC.
