Pune: 6 Persons Sentenced 10 Years Imprisonment For Attacking Man Who Questioned One Of Them For Spitting On Road

Pune, 24th April 2022: The Pune district and sessions has sentenced six men to years of rigorous imprisonment for assaulting a man with swords for questioning one of them for spitting on the road.

Additional Sessions Judge SKS Gosavi has also imposed a fine of Rs 9,300 on the convicts Rafiq Umar Shaikh (38), Feroz Ghulam Hussain (33), Afzal Umar Shaikh (34), Muddassar alias Sonu Sabir Khan (31), Munwar alias Monu Sabir Shaikh (31), Saddam Umar Shaikh (31), all residents of Dias Plot, Gultekdi.

Govardhan Khude had lodged a complaint at Swargate police station in this regard.

As per the case details, Afzal had spit on the street on October 21, 2011 at Dias Plot colony in Gultekdi. Khude and his cousin Krishna Londhe asked him why he was spittig on the road. This led to an argument and Afzal called his accomplices. Khude was attacked with a sword and Londhe was beaten with a club.

After the case was registered, police arrested the accused on charges of attempt to murder. Additional Public Prosecutor Maruti Wadekar examined nine witnesses to prove the guilt of the accused.
