Pune: 6 Workers Dead, 3 Injured In Building Basement Raft Collapse In Yerwada

Yerwada, 4th February 2022 (1 am): According to Senior Police Inspector Yunus Sheikh, in-charge of Yerwada police station, six dead bodies of workers have been removed while three injured are admitted to hospital.

“The iron mesh of basement raft crashed at an under-construction building near Wadia Bungalow near Shastrinagar chowk. Six workers have died while three injured are undergoing treatment at Sassoon Hospital”, he added.

The incident took place around 11 pm on Thursday.

Bluegrass Construction company is constructing a building on the site of Wadia Farm near Shastrinnagar Chowk on Pune-Ahmednagar Road. The basement of the building is now under construction, with an underground slab being laid there. 15 workers were working to make the required iron mesh. They were engaged in welding iron bars when the mesh collapsed.
