Pune: 700 Grams Gold Ornaments Stolen From Retired Government Employee’s Flat In Aundh

Aundh, 21st July 2022: Thieves have stolen 700 grams gold ornaments from the house of a retired officer of the Water Resources Department. This incident took place in a society in Aundh.

The 61-old-year officer, a resident of Pinaka Gangotri Society, Nagaras Road, Aundh, has filed a complaint in this regard at Chaturshringi Police Station under Pune city police.

According to the police, the complainant retired from the water resources department three years ago. He and his wife had gone to Kagal for a religious function on July 3. His younger son resides in the UK and the elder son has gone to meet him.

Police said that thieves broke open the door of their flat and decamped with the 700 grams gold jewellery and a laptop, totally worth Rs 29.28 lakh.

On Wednesday (July 20) morning, the chairman of the society saw that the door of the flat was broken. After that, he informed the complainant about the incident. He immediately came to Pune and informed the police.

Senior police officials inspected the spot. A dog squad was called to assist the cops. The police have seized the CCTV footage for investigation and are searching for the thieves.
