Pune: 78,000 Pending Claims Settled In National Lok Adalat; Couple Reunite After 15 Years

Pune, 12th February 2023: In the National Lok Adalat organized under the guidance of Principal District and Sessions Judge Shyam Chandak who is the Chairman of Pune District Legal Services Authority, Pune district once again won the first position in the state by settling 78,206 pending claims. For the ninth time in a row, the district has retained its first position in settling claims.

Bank Debt Recovery 1 thousand 277, Compromise Criminal cases 7 thousand 819, Electricity Payment 247, Labor Disputes 7, Land Acquisition 118, Motor Accident Claims Tribunal 125, Matrimonial Disputes 217, Negotiable Instruments Act 1 thousand 525, Other Civil 674, Revenue 203, water tax 61,990, consumer dispute six and others 3,998 cases have been settled.

Out of 2 lakh 24 thousand 516 claims kept for compromise, 13 thousand 795 claims were settled and Rs 70,72,44,426 were recovered. Out of 1,96,08 pending cases before the dispute, 64,411 cases were settled and out of this 46,83,78,384 settlement fees were recovered. A total of 78,206 pending claims were settled and Rs 117,56,22,810 lakh rupees were recovered as a compromise fee.

Six couples who filed for divorce decided to get back together after counselling. One of them was living separately for the last 15 years. The case was disposed of in the court of First Class Judicial Magistrate Sudhir Barde while five other cases were disposed of in the court of First Class Judicial Magistrate Chintaman Shelke.

Associate Civil Judge Jagruti Bhatia, being an elderly person, conducted the hearing in two cases through video conferencing. On the panel of District Judge Bhushan Kshirsagar, the needy got compensation from various insurance companies in 113 motor accident cases. Out of 1825 cases taken on the panel of Civil Judge Senior Level Rajendra Tambe, 118 land acquisition cases were settled and an amount of Rs 11 crore 95 lakh 39 thousand was recovered.

More than 9 lakh filed and pre-filed cases were disposed of in eight National Lok Adalat conducted by the Pune District Legal Services Authority. Thus, the Pune district has maintained the tradition of being a pioneer in settling claims during the organization of the National Lok Adalat. For this successful project, the officers and employees of all the courts of the district, officers of various departments and citizens have got good cooperation.

Next Lok Adalat On 30th April In Pune

Next National Lok Adalat will be held on Saturday 30th April 2023 in all Courts of Pune District. Legal Services Authority Secretary and Senior Civil Judge Mangal Kashyap have appealed to the parties to participate in the Lok Adalat and resolve their respective cases amicably and through compromise.
