Pune: Crime Branch Catches Youngster Carrying Pistol During Kasba By-Election Campaign

Pune, 12th February 2023: A man was caught by the Crime Branch of Pune Police for carrying a country-made pistol during the by-elections in the Kasba constituency. This action was taken in Ghorpade Peth. A country-made pistol and one cartridge were recovered from the accused. During interrogation, the accused told the police he was carrying a pistol to create terror.

Security has been deployed by the police for the Kasba assembly elections. The crime branch team was patrolling Ghorpade Peth. At that time, one person was staying in the Ekbote Colony area and it was reported that he had a country-made pistol. After that, a police team laid a trap and caught him.

The action was taken by team comprising Police Inspector Sandeep Bhosle, Assistant Inspector Ashish Kawthekar, and Ramesh Tapkir, Datta Sonawane, Aniket Babar, Rahul Makhare, Shashikant Darekar, Tushar Malvadkar, and others of Unit One of the Crime Branch.
