Pune: 7th Edition of Sindhi Premier League to kick off from April 10
Pimpri-Chinchwad, 6th April 2026: The seventh edition of the Sindhi Premier League (SPL), organized to promote social bonding within the community, will begin on April 10, 2026, at the MCC, Mrunal Cricket Ground in Pimpri. A total of 23 teams, 16 in the men’s category and seven in the women’s category, will participate in this year’s tournament.
The opening ceremony will be held on April 10 at 5.30 pm in the presence of former cricketers, prominent members of the Sindhi community, team owners and players, along with their families,” said organizer Naresh Nasha & team.
He added that the league has been consistently organized for the past seven years by youngsters from the Sindhi community. The funds raised through the tournament are used for social causes. This year, the organisers will take full responsibility for the education of a girl student from Sadhu Vaswani Mission, he said.
Bipin Dakhneja said the tournament is structured on the lines of the IPL. There are 16 team owners in the men’s category and seven in the women’s category. As many as 256 male and 98 female players have registered for the league, he said. The men’s teams are named after elements of Sindhi culture, while the women’s teams are named after rivers, he added.
Some of the prominent men’s teams include Mast Kalandar, Sultan of Sindh, Mohenjodaro Warriors, Sindhphool Rangers, SSD Falcon, Indus Dynamos, Dada Vaswanis Brigade, Jhulelal Superkings, Hemu Kalani Gladiators, Gurunanak Knights, Sant Kanwaram Royals, Aryans United, Jai Baba Strikers, Sindhi Indians, Ajrak Supergiants, and Pimpri Yoddhaj.
The women’s teams include Ganga Warriors, Godavari Giants, Jhelum Queens, Sindhu Starlets, Yamuna Strikers, Narmada Titans, and Krishna Supernovas.
