Pune: 91-Year-Old Man Recovers From Covid-19 Without Using Remdesivir
Pune, 5th May 2021: A 91-year-old man recovered from a Coronavirus infection without the use of Remdesivir injection. This has proven that even the Remdesivir is important for the treatment of a patient, still, another option can be utilised to improve the health of the patients.
The elderly man was receiving treatment at the city’s Saisneh Covid Care Center, Katraj. His treatment was completed on Tuesday, after which the hospital lovingly released him at home.
Dr Sunil Jagtap of Saisneh Hospital said, “When the 91-year-old grandfather came to us for treatment, he did not have any other comorbidity. This made it relatively easy to treat. Instead of using the Remdesivir injection, we used all the other options. This included Oxygen, blood thinners, antifungal drugs that were used at the right time for the treatment.”
He further added, “Remdesivir is useful for the treatment of patients. It is needed, but it is wrong to insist on it. If you do not get the injection, the oxygen and even a small amount of steroids are useful to cure the patient.”
