Pune: AAP To Contest PCMC Election
Pimpri-Chinchwad, 9th January 2023: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is going to contest in the upcoming Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) elections.
Haribhau Rathod, Maharashtra State Vice President of AAP, informed in a press conference that they will contest the elections on the issues of free water, education and electricity.
Rathod said, “We would like to fight independently rather than stay in an alliance. We do not want to go with those who are fighting among themselves.”
AAP, which is in power in Punjab and Delhi, has now also focused on the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation in Maharashtra. AAP will enter the election arena with the issue of free water, electricity, quality education and health. “The PCMC is known as a rich municipality, then, why are free health facilities not provided?” Rathod raised the question.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) are strong parties in Pimpri-Chinchwad. “However, it is the people who decide who to vote for. So we are going to fight independently. We do not believe in alliances. Aam Aadmi Party has taken a stand that we do not want to go with parties that are fighting among themselves,” Rathod said.
