Pune, October 29, 2020: Student volunteers of the Akhil Bhartiya Vidhan Parishad (ABVP) staged a protest against the Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) administration yesterday, alleging irregularities in the varsity’s final year online/offline examination.
Agitating against 14,000 unresolved complaints, ABVP volunteers broke the barricades on the Pune University premises. “We are agitating for students’ rights and we have many demands”, said Anil Thombare, Pune City Secretary, ABVP.
Thombare also posed a question on the disappearance of the LLB final year exam question paper. “Where did that paper go?”, he asked.
Questions regarding BA LLB students were raised as well during the protest. “Previously, BA LLB students were awarded a three-year degree. Why has the course been dropped this year?” a student asked.
Thombare further agitated, “The administration is also saying that the final year students of engineering will be passed based on diploma marks.  Why is this decision made even after conducting the final year exams”.
“No answer has yet been given by the university administration to these questions, nobody is willing to come forward and speak”, said a student protester.
