Pune: Accidents Claim Two Lives on Mumbai-Bangalore Bypass At Navale Bridge And Warje

Pune, 6th June 2023: Tragedy struck on the Mumbai-Bangalore bypass as two individuals lost their lives in separate accidents that occurred in the Navale Pool and Warje areas.

In the first incident, a young man riding a bike was fatally struck by a speeding vehicle near the Swami Narayan Mandir area, close to Navale Bridge on the Outer Ring Road. The unfortunate incident transpired at approximately 4 am. The deceased has been identified as Thakur Lakhan Kushwaha, a 28-year-old resident of Dattanagar.

A case has been registered against the driver of the vehicle involved in the accident, following a complaint lodged by Rajendra Kushwaha, Lakhan’s 32-year-old brother, at the Bharti Vidyapeeth Police Station. Lakhan was riding his bike along the outer ring road when an unidentified speeding vehicle collided with him on Service Road. Tragically, Lakhan succumbed to his severe injuries before receiving medical treatment. The absconding driver is currently being sought, and the investigation is being carried out by Police Sub-Inspector Mohan Deshmukh.

In another incident, a driver lost his life when a cargo jeep overturned in the Warje area on the highway. The deceased driver has been identified as Omkar Dattatray Pansare, a 21-year-old resident of Sakori in Junnar taluka. The accident was reported to the Warje Malwadi Police Station by Policeman Balaji Kate. Pansare was en route to Satara when the pickup truck he was driving overturned, leading to the fatal accident. Despite being critically injured, Pansare tragically succumbed to his injuries. The investigation into the incident is being carried out by Police Sub-Inspector Tripti Patil.
