Pune: Action To Be Taken Against 250 Teachers Who Were Absent From Meeting Organized By PCMC
Bhosari, 24th February 2023: As many as 250 teachers were absent from the seminar organized by the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) in Bhosari to review the functioning of the Education Department to date and to guide the improvement of educational quality. Administrative action will be taken against these teachers by the Education Department. Due to this, the teachers who were absent from the seminar program are worried.
A workshop was conducted by the Education Department of PCMC under the orders of Commissioner Shekhar Singh at Ankushrao Landge Theater in Bhosari for the teachers and headmasters of all primary and secondary schools.
All primary and secondary teachers of the municipality needed to attend it. Around 1,100 teachers attended it. In the workshop, information was given about various activities of the Education Department. Partnerships with various social organizations, CSR Committee, Clerk Recruitment, National Child Health Programme, Principal’s workshop, English language teaching, English subject teachers’ workshop, and other schemes and activities were discussed.
The heads of the organizations related to that subject gave information about the activities they were implementing in the workshop. The workshop was held in two sessions on Thursday (23rd February). However, the absence of teachers from the workshop held regarding the improvement of educational quality has raised a question mark about how much affinity the teachers have towards education and students.
Therefore, Commissioner Shekhar Singh has expressed his displeasure with such irresponsible teachers and has ordered the Education Department to take action against them. Accordingly, action will be taken against about 250 teachers who were absent from the said event. They will be issued notices and ordered to submit reasons for absence. Deputy Commissioner (Education) Sandeep Khot informed that strict action will be taken against them.
