Pune: Adulterated Cement Sold At Rs 50 Less; Police Seized 200 Sacks Of Cement From Well-Known Company
Chakan, 9th April 2023: The Chakan Police seized around 200 cement sacks from a tempo and truck which was brought to Kadachiwadi, taluka Khed near Chakan for sale by filling adulterated cement in cement sacks of a well-known company with the help of local citizens and traders. The incident took place on Friday (7th April) around noon. In this case, the proceedings of investigation and filing of the case were going on till late at night.
This has exposed the rampant sale of adulterated cement in sacks of a well-known company in the Chakan area. The police have informed the officials of the concerned company about this. Fraud and violation of copyright and trademark law is going on in this area for a long time.
The incident revealed that fake cement was being sold to retail cement buyers. Officials and members of the Building Materials Association have said that the use of such bogus cement can affect newly constructed buildings.
According to traders in this business, the cement of a light quality company is being sold in sacks of the said company. A sack worth Rs 370 was being sold at Rs 320. The adulterated cement is being sold at Rs 50 less than the market price.
There is a possibility of having a large network of related people. Some people have tried hard to suppress the whole affair. So far, the investigation is going on as to whom and how much cement was sold by those concerned.
