Pune: After argument with wife, man kills 5-month-old daughter in Bavdhan

Pune, May 9, 2020: In a shocking incident, a 35-year-old man allegedly killed his five months old daughter after an argument with his wife in Bavdhan. The incident took place around 3 am today. Hinjawadi police station, under Pimpri Chinchwad police commissionerate, has arrested the accused identified as Bapurao Jadhav, a resident of Bavdhan. He works as a driver.

According to police, due to domestic issues, there was an argument between the couple on Friday night. In the wee hours, when his wife and daughter were sleeping, the accused strangled the daughter to death. He placed her body in the yard in front of the house and came back to wake up his wife. He told her that their daughter is not on the bed. They searched for her and found the body in front of the house. The accused himself informed the police.

During the investigation, police found discrepancies in his statements and during interrogation, he confessed to the crime. An FIR has been registered against him for an offence under section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
