Pune couple on way to bring their son killed in an accident in Satara district

Pune, May 9, 2020: A doctor and her husband, who were going to bring their stranded son at their village in Belgaum, Karnataka, died in road accident in Karad taluka of Satara district, early morning today. Due to Coronavirus outbreak, she had sent him to stay with his grandmother about one and half month ago.
Satara Police have identified the deceased as IT engineer Amit Appaji Gawade (38) and his wife Dr Anuja Amit Gawade (35), both residents of Greenfield Society near Amanora Park Town in Hadapsar, Pune. She had own clinic while Amit worked with a private company in Kharadi. They had left Pune on Friday midnight.
According to police, the incident took place around 4 am when the driver of the car lost control over the wheel. The speeding car hit the divider and overturned on the Pune-Bangalore highway in Bhoslewadi village near Umbraj in Karad taluka of Satara district. The car was badly damaged. The couple died on the spot due to serious injuries, police said.
