Pune: After Brother’s Suicide, Man Kidnaps His Paramour’s Son From Kalyaninagar

Yerwada, 16th January 2022: The officials from Yerwada police station, Pune city police, have arrested five persons for allegedly abducting a 20-year-old youth while he was returning from work at DMart in Kalyaninagar.

According to police, one of the accused suspected that his brother died by suicide because of the kidnapped youth’s mother with whom he reportedly had an affair.

The arrested persons have been identified as Vijay Ram Gechand (31), Ajay Ranba Hawle (21), Vikas Anand Bhandari (30), Jamir Karim Sheikh (19) and Suraj Gangaram Morya (26), all residents of Rajiv Gandhinagar, Yerwada. A 37-year-old woman has lodged a complaint with the Yerwada Police Station regarding the abduction of her son.

According to police, the incident took place around 11.30 pm on January 14. The youth was returning from work when he was abducted in a car near DMart in Kalyani Nagar. His mother lodged a complaint at the Yerwada police station as the boy had not been home for a long time.

After getting information that the accused were at Perne Fata, a team was sent there which nabbed them. Today, they were produced before a judicial magistrate court which remanded them to police custody till January 18.

The investigation was carried out under the guidance of Additional Commissioner of Police (East region) Namdev Chavan, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 4) Rohidas Pawar, Assistant Commissioner of Police Kishore Jadhav, Senior Police Inspector Yunus Sheikh.

The team included Police Inspector (Crime) Vijay Singh Chavan, Assistant Police Inspector Ravindra Alekar, Police Sub-Inspector Ankush Dombale, Kiran Lite, Vishal Patil, policemen Ganpat Thikole and Datta Shinde.
