Pune, October 5, 2020: The air quality of Pune which was considerably improved during the lockdown again has settled for the satisfactory levels. The air quality measured from April to September was good, but again it has dropped to a satisfactory level, said the researchers.

Due to lockdown when the manufacturing units were shut and vehicular movement was restricted the pollutants level was dropped down to seven to eight PM which was over 100 to 130 PM before the lockdown. The air quality index was measured by the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB) and SAFAR (System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research).

Meanwhile, the real-time air quality data was collected only from the Nal Stop chowk by Pune Municipal Corporation as other five stations where it is measured are manually operated stations.
