Pune: Over 11,000 Driving Licenses Suspended In Six Months For This Reason
Pune, October 5, 2020: Taking action against the traffic violators, the traffic branch of Pune police and the regional transport office (RTO) has suspended licenses of over 11,000 motorists from January to June. Majority of the time the traffic violators were found talking over the phone.
The traffic branch had taken action against 36,204 traffic norm violators in 2019. Among them, the licenses of 34,991 were suspended. This year between January to June, the police suspended licenses of 11, 924 violators.
Besides talking over the phone, not wearing the helmet and violating the general traffic rules too were included.
