Pune Airport Expansion: District Collector Instructed To Acquire 135 Acres Land In Lohegaon – Ajit Pawar

Pune, 12th February 2024: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, who is Guardian Minister of Pune District, has directed the Pune District Collector to initiate the land acquisition process for the expansion of the Pune airport in Lohegaon by acquiring 135 acres.

During his visit to the Lohegaon airport on Friday, Pawar inspected the new terminal, set to open soon, and emphasized the need for additional land to facilitate more international flights from the current site.

He instructed the District Collector to acquire the required land, with the state government covering 60% of the land cost, Pune Municipal Corporation contributing 20%, and the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) and Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) each contributing 10%.
