Pune: AISMA protest against privatisation, corporatisation of Indian Railways

Pune, August 11, 2020: On the call of the central executive of All India Station Masters Association (AISMA), Shakti Divas (Power Day) was observed in all Indian Railway divisions, under which the station masters peacefully agitated and sent a memorandum to the Railway Board Chairman and Divisional Railway Manager (DRM).

 

In Pune, a delegation comprising union president Dhananjay Chandratre, zonal executive chairman Shailendra Mishra, zonal vice president Ajay Sinha, Dinesh Kamble, Bipin Bihari, UK Mandal, submitted the memorandum to station director Sanjay Kumar.

 

Their major demands are as follows:

1) Privatization, corporatisation of Railways should be stopped
2) Station Masters and field staff should be provided insurance of Rs 50 lakhs for protection from COVID19
3) Selling trains in private hands and selling of railway shares to IRCTC, CONCOR should be stopped
4) Anti-labour reform laws should be withdrawn

 

In Pune division, 360 station masters are continuing a massive movement on social media like Twitter, WhatsApp and Facebook in support of these demands which will run till August 13.

 

The memorandum has been also sent by registered post to Railway Minister, Chairman Railway Board, Member Traffic, Member Staff, GM Central Railway. The union president said that the movement of AISMA Power Day was observed simultaneously by 39,000 station masters in the country.
