Pune: Ajit Pawar Assures Rs 200 Crores for Katraj-Kondhwa Road, Suggests Extension Of Flyover By 700 Meters

Katraj, 19th January 2024: In a surprise move, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar conducted an unannounced inspection of the ongoing works on the Katraj-Kondhwa road. Expressing contentment with the progress, he assured that the matter of allocating Rs 200 crores in state government funds for this project would be brought up in the upcoming cabinet meeting.

During the inspection, Pawar suggested extending the Katraj Chowk flyover by an additional 650-700 meters. He also emphasized the need to widen the Public Works Department road from Khadi Machine Chowk onwards. In a directive, he ordered the immediate opening of the one-way road from Khadi Machine Chowk to Kanha Hatel. Pawar personally conveyed his gratitude to those who cooperated in the land acquisition process for the road development.

Providing insights into the status of the road work, Pune Municipal Corporation Commissioner Vikram Kumar informed that, in accordance with the Deputy Chief Minister’s instructions, a detailed project report has been submitted to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways of the Central Government.

In attendance during the inspection were MLA Chetan Tupe, Additional Commissioner Vikas Dhakne, Superintending Engineer of Public Works Department Bappa Bahir, Executive Engineer Amol Pawar, and Mahesh Patil of the National Highway Authority.

In recognition of his efforts, Deputy Chief Minister Pawar was felicitated by the citizens of the area. Following Pawar’s directives, traffic on one side of the road has been initiated, aiming to streamline the ongoing development and facilitate smoother movement for commuters.
