Prime Minister Modi had come to Shri Kshetra Dehu today for this ceremony. Leader of Opposition Devendra Fadnavis along with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar were present on the occasion. In his speech, Modi said that Dehu’s Shila temple is not only a centre of devotional power but also expands India’s cultural future. Tukaram’s palkhi will leave for Pandharpur on Monday (June 20) for Ashadi Wari.

However, a new controversy erupted after the event. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech followed the speech of Leader of Opposition Devendra Fadnavis. This raises the question as to why Ajit Pawar was not given a chance to speak. Prime Minister Modi was also surprised that Ajit Pawar did not get a chance to speak. He had gestured with his hand and suggested this.

“Not allowing Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar to speak at this place is an insult to the whole of Maharashtra and this is serious and painful,” Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) MP Supriya Sule confided reporters in Amravati. The event was held at Dehu in the presence of the Prime Minister. Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and Leader of Opposition Devendra Fadnavis were also present for the event. “Giving Devendra Fadnavis a chance to speak is an internal matter of the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP). However, Ajit Pawar is the Deputy Chief Minister of the state. He is the Guardian Minister of Pune district,” Supriya Sule added further.

“A request was made to the Prime Minister’s Office as a protocol for Ajit Pawar to address the event. But the Prime Minister’s Office declines the request. Once again, injustice has been done to the Mahavikas Aghadi. The leader of our state is on the platform. Opposition leaders are allowed to speak there but our leaders are not. This is injustice and was a nice try to silence our leader. According to the protocol, Ajit Pawar should have been given a chance to speak,” said Supriya Sule.

After this incident, BJP said that Warakaris were allowed to speak in this program. NCP MLA Amol Mitkari said while talking to ABP Majha, “Devendra Fadnavis is not a Warakari, he is a political leader. If the BJP is saying that this is a childish and ridiculous statement, then Supriya Sule has given information from the Deputy Chief Minister’s Office to the media. The protocol from the Deputy Chief Minister’s Office has not been followed.”

“Ajit Pawar is not as eager for speech as Fadnavis. There is a big difference between the two. If Ajit Pawar is the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, then Prime Minister Modi should have requested him to express his views. BJP and its spiritual front should apologize to Maharashtra,” demanded Amol Mitkari.
