Pune: Alert Railway Ticket Inspector Identifies 5-Year-Old Boy Traveling Alone, Handed Over To Guardian

Pune, 3rd July 2021: Due to the conscious efforts of Pune Railway Division’s Senior Ticket Inspector Rajendra Katkar, a 5-year-old boy traveling alone was safely handed over to his guardian.
Katkar was on duty in special train number 02016 Pune – Mumbai Indrayani Express on 2nd July. During routine checking when the train left Kalyan station, he noticed a five-year-old boy traveling alone in coach number D-8. There was also a bag nearby. On questioning the passengers present in the coach, they came to know that a person at Kalyan station had put the child and the bag in the coach and did not board the train.

Seeing the seriousness of the matter, ticket inspector Katkar immediately informed the control office. During this time, he tried to know the name of the child by asking the child but he could not tell.
On arrival at Dadar station, the said child and bag were handed over to the Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel by Katkar.
“This work done by Rajendra Katkar is highly commendable and it also shows his social commitment towards his duty. Pune Railway Division is proud of the philanthropic and humanitarian work done by the railway employees”, railways stated in a press release.
