Yerwada, 26th March 2025: In a remarkable display of communal harmony, the Sarva Dharma Sambhav Trust, led by social worker and professional golfer Ikram Khan, organized a community Iftar at Sadal Baba Dargah in Yerawada. The event saw participation from people across different faiths, reinforcing the spirit of national unity.

The gathering was graced by Pune’s Joint Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Ranjan Kumar Sharma, DCP (Zone IV) Himmat Jadhav, and senior officials from the Yerawada Police Station. Other dignitaries included social worker Daniel Landge, businessman Gaurav Gadokhe, along with Ahad Khan, Indrani Mujagale, and several others. The event also witnessed enthusiastic participation from citizens representing diverse fields such as education, sports, and culture.

Addressing the gathering, Jt CP Ranjan Kumar Sharma lauded Ikram Khan’s efforts in promoting interfaith unity. “Such events bring together Hindus, Muslims, Christians, and people from other faiths on one platform. These initiatives should be encouraged regularly, and the police department will always support such nation-building activities,” he stated.

Ikram Khan emphasized that community Iftars are more than just shared meals; they serve as a platform for fostering understanding, respect, and unity among different religious groups. “These gatherings symbolize communal harmony and demonstrate the potential for unity in a diverse society. We will continue organizing such events to strengthen our secular fabric and build a stronger India,” he said.

Khan’s community Iftars have become a symbol of interfaith harmony, fostering dialogue and collaboration among various religious communities.

A highlight of these gatherings is the participation of the Warkari community, a Hindu devotional sect, reinforcing the message of unity.

Last year’s Iftar at the Sadal Baba Dargah featured a unique blend of traditions, including bhajan performances alongside Iftar observances, further emphasizing interfaith solidarity.
