Pune Police Arrest Man for Stealing Rs 1.22 Lakh from Maternal Aunt’s Home
Camp, 26th March 2025: The Detection Branch of Lashkar Police Station in Pune has apprehended a 28-year-old man for stealing cash and gold jewelry worth Rs 1.22 lakh from his maternal aunt’s residence. The accused, identified as Kiran Kunte, a resident of Pune Camp, was arrested after confessing to the crime and has since returned the stolen items.
The theft occurred when the complainant, the accused’s maternal aunt, was visiting her daughter. Taking advantage of her absence, Kunte broke into the house and stole cash and gold jewelry from an iron closet. Following the incident, a case was registered at Lashkar Police Station.
Acting on information from a confidential source, the police detained Kunte for questioning. During the interrogation, he admitted to committing the theft and subsequently returned the stolen items.
The case was successfully solved by a team led by Senior Police Inspector Girish Digaonkar, under the guidance of Additional Commissioner of Police (West) Pravin Kumar Patil, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 2) Smartana Patil, and Assistant Commissioner of Police (Lashkar Division) Deepak Nikam.
