Pune: All Obstacles In Construction Of Ring Road Removed; Check Out Benefits Provided To Landowners

Pune, 20th September 2022: As the Ministry of Environment of the Union Government gave the green light to the route of the Ring Road in the western part of the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA), all the obstacles in the way of this road have been removed. Accordingly, another step has been taken in terms of starting the work of this project.

While the process of land acquisition for the road has started, the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change of the Union Government has given the green light to the ring road in the western region. Therefore, Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) officials said that after 80 per cent of land acquisition, the way tendering for road work has been cleared.

For the counting work to be completed to reduce traffic congestion in Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad cities, the work of this ring road has been undertaken by MSRDC. This ring road has two phases, East and West.

The Eastern Ring Road is Urse (Taluka Maval)-Kelwade (Taluka Bhor). The Western Ring Road will start from Kelwde (Bhor) and converge at Urse Tollnaka at Haveli, Mulshi and Maval. The ring road will pass through 37 villages. Land survey work in 36 of these villages has been completed.

An amount of Rs 1.5 thousand crores was provided by the Maharashtra state government in the supplementary budget for the land acquisition of Ring road. This fund was allocated to MSRDC by the then Finance Minister Ajit Pawar.

However, due to some technical reasons, the process of land acquisition could not be started even after fixing the preliminary assessment rate and counting process.

After the completion of all the technical processes, now land acquisition has also started.

Project in perspective:

-Ring road will pass through four taluks of Bhor, Haveli, Mulshi, and Maval in the western region.

– Acquisition of 695 hectares of land.

– Counting work of ring road completed.

– Land acquisition rate fixing work in the final stage.

– Land acquisition will be done along the lines of Samriddhi Highway.

What is the benefit to the space owners?

– Land acquisition will get quadruple compensation.

– 25 per cent more compensation after allotment of land by land owners themselves.

– As the ring road will pass through the village, the prices of land will increase.

– There will be planned development in the surrounding area.
