Pune: Alnesh Somji Sent To Yerwada Central Jail In Cheating Case, Wife’s Bail Hearing On Monday

Pune, 11th November 2021: Alnesh Somji of MG Enterprises, who is accused of swindling crores of rupees from many citizens of Pune by showing the lure of giving 24 per cent annual return, and his wife Dimple Alnesh Somji, both residents of Koregaon Park, have been arrested by the Pune Crime Branch’s Anti-Extortion Cell.

On Friday, a court remanded Somji to magisterial custody remand and sent him to Yerwada Central Jail after the expiry of his police custody remand. Dimple is already lodged in jail. Her bail application hearing is scheduled for hearing on Monday (November 15).

A case has been registered against them at Koregaon Park Police Station. The Somji couple had absconded after the case was registered. The Pune police had on October 29 issued a lookout notice against the Somji couple to prevent them from fleeing the country. After being brought to Pune from Delhi airport, Somji and his wife were produced in Shivajinagar Court. They were remanded to police custody then.

Police Inspector Balaji Pandhare is further investigating the case.
