Pune, 6th June 2023: Cloudy weather continues to prevail in Pune city and its surrounding areas. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a warning for rain accompanied by thunder and strong winds in and around Pune today.

On Monday (5th), the city recorded a maximum temperature of 34.7 degrees Celsius. There were isolated instances of rainfall in Pune, with Magarpatta receiving 1.5 mm and Koregaon Park receiving 1 mm of rainfall.

The ongoing low-pressure belt stretching from Bihar to Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, and Telangana, along with the persisting cyclonic wind conditions over the East-Central Bay of Bengal, has created a favorable environment for rains and a humid climate in the state. Rain with thunder has been forecasted in Madhya Maharashtra, South Konkan, Marathwada, and Vidarbha on Tuesday (6th).

Chandrapur recorded the highest temperature in the state on Monday (5th) at 43 degrees Celsius, while temperatures above 40 degrees were observed in Vidarbha. Currently, the fluctuating temperatures are attributed to the rain. Rainfall is anticipated in various regions, including Pune, Satara, Sangli, Sindhudurg, Kolhapur, Parbhani, Nanded, Wardha, Nagpur, Amravati, Hingoli, Bhandara, and Washim on Tuesday (6th).
