Pune, 27th December 2025: Members of the prominent Andekar family, Laxmi Andekar and Sonali Andekar, have filed their nomination papers for the upcoming Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) elections under tight police and court supervision. They were escorted to Pune from Kolhapur Jail, where they were held in connection with the Ayush Komkar murder case, following special conditional permission granted by the court for their electoral participation.

The nomination papers were submitted at the Bhavani Peth regional election office. While the court allowed the filings, it prohibited any rallies, speeches, or public announcements during the process. The police provided necessary security to ensure a smooth submission.

Following the submission by Laxmi and Sonali Andekar, Bandu Andekar, the leader of the Andekar faction in Pune, is expected to file his nomination papers. Reports indicate that Bandu Andekar will file from Ward 22, while Laxmi and Sonali Andekar have filed from Ward 23.

The Andekar family’s entry into the PMC elections is closely watched due to their ongoing involvement in legal proceedings, making this a high-profile electoral development in Pune.
