Pune, 26th December 2025: Following the implementation of the rationalised fare structure effective December 26, 2025, passengers travelling from Pune to key destinations across India will witness specific fare hikes. The analysis of the new fare chart reveals that long-distance trains to Northern and Eastern India have incurred the highest absolute increases, while shorter intercity routes remain largely insulated.
Below is the detailed breakdown of the fare differences for high-demand routes originating from Pune:
New Delhi (NDLS)
Travelers to the national capital face a consistent increase across reserved classes.
AC 2-Tier (2AC): The fare has increased by ₹35, rising from ₹2,530 to ₹2,565.
AC 3-Tier (3AC): Similarly, the rate has gone up by ₹35, moving from ₹1,755 to ₹1,790.
Sleeper Class (SL): Passengers will pay ₹35 more, with the ticket price increasing from ₹660 to ₹695.
General (GEN): The unreserved fare has risen by ₹30, from ₹405 to ₹435.
Mumbai CSMT
Given the short distance, the Pune-Mumbai corridor sees the lowest monetary impact.
Second Seating (2S): The fare has increased marginally by ₹5, from ₹95 to ₹100.
AC Chair Car (CC): There is no change in the fare, which remains steady at ₹345.
General (GEN): The fare remains unchanged at ₹100.
AC 1-Tier (1AC): A nominal increase of ₹5, taking the fare from ₹1,185 to ₹1,190.
Howrah (HWH)
Routes to Kolkata show a significant hike due to the distance involved.
AC 2-Tier (2AC) & AC 3-Tier (3AC): Both classes see a hike of ₹45. The 2AC fare is now ₹3,065 (up from ₹3,020), and 3AC is ₹2,150 (up from ₹2,105).
Sleeper Class (SL): The fare has increased by ₹40, rising from ₹810 to ₹850.
General (GEN): Unreserved tickets are now ₹40 costlier, priced at ₹530 compared to the previous ₹490.
Gorakhpur (GKP)
This route reflects the sharpest increases among the analyzed destinations.
AC 1-Tier (1AC): The fare has surged by ₹85, moving from ₹4,550 to ₹4,635.
AC 2-Tier (2AC): Tickets are now ₹65 more expensive, priced at ₹2,755.
AC 3-Tier (3AC): The fare has increased by ₹60, rising from ₹1,865 to ₹1,925.
